  4. FileBejeezus is a type/creator changer (yes, another one).
  5.  
  6. It’s purpose is clear:  To provide an easy way to change the file type and creator signatures of large amounts of files with a single movement of the mouse.
  7.  
  8. Another great use for it is to keep several copies (the app is only about 12k decompressed) on your desktop, each with different settings.  You could have one to set GIF files so they’ll launch into GifConverter.  You could have one to set text files to your favorite word processor or text editor.  See the accompanying list of file and creator types for more possible conversions.

  10. How it works:

  12. 1. Open FileBejeezus.
  13. 2. Set the type and creator you want.
  14. 3. You can choose to only modify the creator or the file type or both.
  15. 4. Quit, then drag-and-drop any number of files into FileBejeezus.  They will be instantly modified.

  17. Simple, is it not?  It even works on Quadras and is 32-bit clean!

The Deluxe version will allow modification of all Finder Attributes in the same way as the current FileB allows creator and file types to be modified.  Things such as Has Bundle, Is Alias, Uses Custom Icon, label, will be changeable with a simple drag-and-drop, on multiple files at the same time!.

FileB is Greenware.  You are not required to donate, but 10-20% of each dollar I recieve goes to an active enviromental organization.  The rest goes to new development equipment (ie a new faster Macintosh with more hard disk space and color monitor) so that I can continue to support, create, and upgrade fine Xenovision products.  All donations are greatly appreciated, though, and I have invested many hours in the development of this small but useful program, not to mention the time I spent learning how to program the Macintosh.
